Description

Model 1851 Pattern Union Enlistedman’s Sword Belt Plate – Bull Run Battlefield

Excavated Civil War enlistedman’s Model 1851 sword belt plate recovered from the Bull Run battlefield, retaining its classic spread-wing Federal eagle motif with shield and wreath border. The plate displays a rich, untouched excavated patina with honest ground action and corrosion consistent with long-term battlefield burial.

Accompanied by its partial iron belt hook attachment, still present beneath the plate.

Recovered relic plates from the Bull Run battlefield remain highly desirable due to the intense fighting during both First and Second Manassas, where thousands of Union accoutrements were lost across the Virginia fields. Though heavily patinated from burial, the eagle design remains clearly identifiable, giving the piece strong visual appeal and unmistakable Civil War character.

An authentic battlefield relic with direct association to one of the war’s most historic and hard-fought landscapes.
