Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket

 

Standard Model 1861 Springfield rifle musket in .58 caliber with lock dated 1862.

 

The musket retains its correct ramrod and both sling swivels remain intact. The buttplate bears U.S. markings along with the numeral “5.”

 

Metal surfaces exhibit a speckled salt‑and‑pepper patina developed through age and use. The Model 1861 became the primary infantry arm of the Union Army and played a central role in nearly every major engagement of the Civil War.
