The ricasso is stamped “US / P / LS / N. STARR”. The iron hilt is tight to the tang. The ribbed wood grip has a couple of chips and cracks and is missing the leather wrap leather wrap. The iron scabbard is heavily pitted with an almost black patina, complete with two suspension rings mounted to the top edge. Drag has the narrow slipper still tightly on the tip. A nice addition to U.S. military edged weapons collection.  The sword was recovered from an attic on Baltimore St. in Gettysburg and was found during renovations.   Inventory Number:  SWO 245 / SOLD
