New York Cross Belt Plate

 

Scarce original brass oval plate with plain face. This plate was purchased by the state of New York to outfit their militia in the 1840s through late 1850s the reverse retains a pair of stud hooks as well as a tapered tongue device for adjustment. An identical example can be found in Sydney Kirksis’s belt buckle book.

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with black velvet and descriptive card.
