Pattern 1839 “Baby U.S.” Belt Buckle – Inventory Number: BEL 372 / SOLD Small size U.S. regulation belt plate with single arrow hook, referred to as the “baby U.S.” buckle by collectors. This style was popular from the Mexican War period until the army declared it obsolete in 1857. These buckles continued to be ordered by several states, including Massachusetts, as late as 1862. A fine non-excavated example with an uncleaned, mellow patina.  Comes housed in a 5 x 6 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card. Inventory Number: BEL 372 / SOLD
