Pistol Cartridge Box 

 

Original pistol cartridge box with very fine leather and tight seams. The outer flap shows very fine minor surface crazing. The left side of the flap bears the embossed letters “U.S. and the right side bears the contract marking of “Davies and Co. New York” and “T.J. Shephard” Latch tab is complete and held in place with an arched line of stitching and copper rivet. The interior of the box is very clean. Inner “pouch” portion measures approximately 4.5” x 3” x 1”. The back has both belt loops. Belt loops are stitched and riveted. Brass finial is present on bottom. Very fine condition.
