Remnants of a Civil War Forage Cap Excavated in Nashville – Inventory Number: UNI 135 / SOLD Excavated leather visor and chinstrap with adjustment buckle and eagle button from a Model 1858 US issue forage cap. They were excavated in 1995 from a military trash pit during the construction of a mall near the courthouse in Nashville, Tennessee. The fragments are lightly pasted to felt and mounted in a 16 ½” by 14” frame with a descriptive card and map of the Nashville area during the Civil War. A unique display piece for any Civil War collection. Inventory Number: UNI 135 / SOLD
