Revolutionary War Era Powder Horn
A small-sized powder horn, dating to the Revolutionary War period. Beautifully curved and naturally formed, this example features a rich, deep patina with warm honey and dark chestnut tones throughout.
The horn retains its tapered wooden spout plug with period cordage at the tip. The larger base end is sealed with a fitted wooden plug, showing age and honest wear consistent with early use. The initials “ADL” have been carved into the plug.
Compact in size, measuring approximately 5,” this horn would have been ideal for carrying priming powder or serving as a secondary horn. A fine, honest early horn with excellent display presence — perfect for a Revolutionary War collection.
