Scarce Badge for a Civil War Veteran Attending a Revolutionary War Monument Dedication

 

Battle of Long Island, Aug. 27th, 1776 (Soldier, Seal of Brooklyn Below) Maryland Memorial Day, Aug. 27th, 1776 – 1895 (Monument, Seal Of Maryland). Mahogany bronze oval medal, 47mm x 37mm, suspended by a loop & jump ring from a blue ribbon lightly embossed with the legend “Veteran of the Civil War 1861-1865” and a top hanger with gold gilt featuring an eagle with a saber and musket in its talons, beneath reads: Prospect Park Brooklyn. bronze pin bar (pin intact), 4 ½” long x 1 ¾”, signed Lutz & Spaeth, 92 Fulton St. on the pin bar, a scarce medal badge for an infrequently honored Revolutionary War battle.

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.
