US General Service Cuff Button

 

Eagle with shield, various backmarks.   Button depicts spread-winged eagle facing right with patriotic shield, generally intended for enlisted troops and were widely used by both sides during the Civil War, including state units.  Backmark: will vary, we have a large selection authentic Civil War General Service buttons and related items, if you are seeking a specific backmark, please contact directly, otherwise a nice quality authentic wartime example will be selected upon order.  Two-part convex button, cuff size.   Reference: Albert GI94, Tice GEN215.
