USNY marked Boston Fuse Pouch

 

Marked original Civil War naval artillery fuse box. This is the leather pouch that went on the side of the Civil War naval artilleryman. It held his paper time fuses for firing the cannon shells. The flap has an arsenal mark of “U.S. NY BOSTON”. The original closure tab is present, and the bottom of the box has the brass finial. On the back of the box is the original leather belt loop solidly intact. This leather has a bit of alligatoring and moderate flaking.
