Watertown Arsenal U.S. Percussion Cap Box 

 

Civil War–era U.S. percussion cap box, clearly marked “U.S.” on the front flap and stamped Watertown Arsenal, dated 1864. Constructed of black leather with the standard belt loops on the reverse. The leather shows honest period wear, consistent with service use, and notably retains some original percussion caps, adding to its display and historical appeal. A strong, well-marked Union accoutrement, well suited for an advanced collection, gallery display, or interpretive Civil War exhibit.
