Captain William H. Grafflin, Company H, First Maryland Cavalry Hand Colored Albumen Silver Print 

 

From the Daniel Carrol Toomey Collection Captain Grafflin posed outdoors with two enlisted men while they were in their winter encampment. This photograph was probably an enlargement made from a smaller negative which produced a faint image on the albumen paper. The photograph was then hand colored.

Frame measures 12’ x 15 ½.”
