    1/6th Plate Tintype of James T. Small 131st Ohio Infantry - Inventory Number:  HAR 190 / SOLD

    28 years old. Enlisted on 5/2/1864 as a Private. On 5/14/1864 he mustered into "D" Co. OH 131st Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 8/25/1864 at Camp Chase, OH

    This regiment was organized at Camp Chase, May 14, 1864, to serve for 100 days.  It was composed of the 2nd and 12th regiments Ohio National Guard, both from Montgomery County, except Capt. Beard's company of the 12th, which went to the 132nd Ohio Infantry.  The regiment was ordered to report at Camp Chase for consolidation and muster-in, and on May 14 orders were received placing it immediately en-route to Baltimore.  Upon its arrival at Baltimore the regiment was assigned to garrison duty at Forts McHenry and Marshall and on Federal hill.  It remained in charge of the forts until Aug. 19, when it left for home, arriving at Columbus on the 21st and was mustered out four days later, on expiration of term of service.

    Comes housed in a 8 x 12 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
