Straps are sewn to a dark blue wool broadcloth backing. The single border is executed with bright and dull bullion in an alternating pattern. The 1st lieutenant bars within the sky blue felt rank field are done the same way.  

The rank field shows nap wear from age and storage on the velvet, but retains strong infantry blue. A nice example for display or to complete a field worn frock coat.   

Comes housed in a 12 x 8 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
