    “Captain G. W. Parkison C.S.A – Saint Louis, Missouri”

    Parkison has an interesting history.

    The Colonel of the 22nd Tennessee in his endorsement to Parkison’s resignation stated: “He is a nuisance to the service without a single officer like trait, or habit”.

    In resigning from the 12th Kentucky Cavalry, Major General Nathan Bedford Forest wrote: “This man is a notorious coward.”

    Parkison mustered into the 22nd Tennessee Infantry on June 25th, 1861, and resigned April 28th, 1862 due to surgeon’s certificate of disability.  

    22nd Tennessee Infantry participated in the following battles:

    Belmont, MD in Nov. 1861

    Fort Donelson, TN Feb. 1862

    Shiloh, TN April 1862

    Parkison mustered into 12th Kentucky Cavalry Sept. 1st, 1863, and resigned June 21st 1864.

    Back has a detailed advertisement for the photographer: “Ennant and Tobias 76 N. Fourth St. St. Louis, Mo.”

    Enlisted on 8/1/1861 as a Captain.

    On 8/1/1861 he was commissioned into "G" Co. TN 22nd Infantry

    G W. Parkison:

    Enlisted as a Captain (date unknown).

    He also had service in:

    "D" Co. KY 12th Cavalry

    Comes housed in 8 inch x 12 inch riker display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
