Cavalry Carbine Sling - Inventory Number: CAV 103 / SOLD

A very nice complete example of a federal issue cavalry sling in black bridle leather. Issued to and used by Union cavalry prior to and during the Civil War. Worn over the soldier’s shoulder with the snap hook attached to the sling bar on the carbine.

Shortened from its original length of 56 inches to approximately 45 inches.  Bridle leather surface is very strong and supple. Brass buckle and tip “batwings” original to the sling.
