Beautiful Civil War period CDV of Confederate cavalry General James Ewell Brown Stuart by E. & H.T. Anthony. This view of JEB Stuart has been published many times. It is a three-quarter seated view of Stuart wearing a gray frock coat and dark trousers with a wide leg stripe. He also wears a waist belt, sash and sword. He sits with his legs crossed with his famous plumed hat in his lap with one hand on the hilt of his sword. Image is clean, clear and crisp. Back has fancy photographer’s imprint that reads “E. & H.T. ANTHONY, 501 BROADWAY, NEW YORK-MANUFACTURERS OF THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHIC ALBUMS.” Back also has “J.E.B. STUART” inscribed in pencil. General Stuart is well known for his military exploits and his unfortunate death at Yellow Tavern on May 12, 1864.
