Civil War Era Bleeder - Sold
Device for "Blood-letting" or cupping. Designed to remove impurities and infections. This device with two blades. The outer sleeve is brass and the blades are steel. The brass on the outer sleeve has a light to moderate patina. Blade marked "JESSOD" As a medical therapy, bleeding or bloodletting endured for approximately 2,500 years. It was only abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century.
