Civil War Carbine Cleaning Brush - Civil War Carbine Cleaning Brush - This cavalry carbine cleaning brush device is an excellent example of an implement or tool used to clean out the barrel bore of breechloading carbines during the war. It was carried by most Federal cavalrymen. It consists of a 4 1/8” long, cylindrical brush connected to a brass ferrule that secures to a 26” long length of leather tong. The brush has stiff circular bristles that would scour the barrel bore when the leather tong was dropped down the breech and then pulled outward from the muzzle. This cleaning brush is a fine representative specimen of Union cavalry equipment. We have 5 carbine cleaning brushes currently available, the price for each is $125. Upon order we will select an example for you. If you wish to purchase additional quantities, please contact us directly.
