Civil War Cartridge Box with Plate - Inventory Number: LEA 150 / SOLD

Model 1855 cartridge box, held 40 .58 caliber cartridges for the Springfield rifle-musket.  Tabs, tins and buckles lacking, but a beautiful plate and sound body. 

Ink inscription inside flap, "MA Good" with large #7 beneath.  No research has been conducted, could lead to possible identification.
