Civil War Eagle Hat Device - Inventory Number: INS 380 / SOLD

1821 Pattern Eagle Device with silver plating, this example is die-struck and exhibits the arrows tucked into the body, which helps determine its wartime manufacture rather than a pre-war example.  The eagle measures an impressive 3” across and retains all four attachment pins on the reverse. Possibly the prettiest of all the American hat devices and a wonderful example!

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with black velvet and descriptive card.
