Civil War Era Champagne Bottle - Inventory Number: BOT 010 / Sold

Recovered from a Virginia campsite.  Olive green color and measures approximately 12 1/2" tall and has a base of 3 1/2" in diameter.  Bears a push-up or kick-up base which is one distinctive feature of most wine/champagne bottles.  The bottle has been tumbled clean.  Wine and champagne bottles were produced in a much more limited variety of shapes than other spirits/liquor containers.
