Civil War Leather Shot Pouch - Ca. 1860. Brown leather bodied shot flask, which contained and dispersed small lead shot, or gun-powder for muskets. Made from two-pieces of leather sewn together to form an elongated oval. There is a sizable tear in the leather near the seam on the backside. The leather spout is firmly attached. Measures approximately 5 5/8 inches.
