Civil War Era Patriotic Match Safe - Inventory Number: PER 385 / SOLD

Wonderful Civil War era patriotic match safe with spread-winged eagle motif. The lid is spring loaded and opened via a button on the side of the safe. The underside has a rough texture for striking matches. There are remnants of a silver wash in places and a nice, uncleaned patina to the brass. A strip of 7 period matches is included inside. An attractive and functional example.
