Unopened package of Civil War era “Queen of the West” tobacco by H.L. Tickner & Co. of Anoka, Minnesota. The package measures 3 ½” by 2” and the tobacco still smells fresh. A similar package from this maker is pictured on page 222 of Echoes of Glory: Arms and Equipment of the Union. A nice addition to a display of a Civil War soldier’s personal effects.
