Civil War Field Binoculars - Inventory Number: MIS 249 / SOLD
Classic wartime examples with symmetrical bridge. This pair retains the original leather covering on the body as well as the sunshades.
The optics are excellent and fully functional. The pair is accompanied by its original leather case with honest wear. Although when originally purchased, the case would have had a lid and sling. You can see they were removed at the time with the stitching pulled and these areas having the same wonderful 160-year-old patina indicating they were carried in a haversack. The exterior of the case is also smoothed out and takes on the contour of the glasses, again, backing up the theory of being carried within a haversack. A great set of field used optics.
