Nice pair of Civil War era field glasses that are fully functional with clear optics. The leather covering is strong and tight, and the sunshades slide smoothly. The red velvet lined carrying case is in good condition with some light crazing throughout. This style of field glasses was widely used by officers, artillerymen, and signal corps members during the Civil War. They measure 5” wide across the front and 6” long when fully closed. A fine example.
