Civil War Fife with Carrying Case - Inventory Number: MUS 174 / SOLD

Original Civil War fife with seldom encountered case.  The fife is accompanied by an unmarked wooden case. A hand-carved compartment for the instrument with brass closure hooks. The fife measures 16 3/4” long with 1 ¼” ferrules and an engraved silver ring identical to a wedding ring on the lower portion of the body. The fife shows field wear and a hairline crack, yet very playable. An awesome addition to a civil war music collection.
