Scarce issue saddle bags for the model 1859 McClellan saddle. This pair is still supple with a pleasing and smooth dark brown finish. One of the closure straps is separated and the other bag has the buckle portion separated from the rest of the strap. Both straps are contained within the bag and could be restored if desired. A well-done old repair is in place on the attachment stud area of the bags, which is a common area for these bags to sustain damage. A very nice pair of Civil War saddle bags that would display well on their own or mounted on an 1859 McClellan saddle.
