Wonderful example of a parade lantern or torch in the form of a musket. This example is constructed of wood with an iron hammer from a shutter clasp and trigger guard fashioned from a drawer pull. The tin oil can retains its original red and blue paint. These saw use in political rallies for the candidacy of Abraham Lincoln and war related parades and gatherings. This example was formerly on display at the National Civil War Soldiers Life Museum in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
