Civil War Relic Federal Regulation Cavalry Picket Pin - Inventory Number: CAV 085 / SOLD

They were used to stake-down a horse temporarily while on picket-duty or grazing. It measures 13 ½” long with an iron “figure 8” loop that swivels.  Recovered from Winchester, Virginia.  A very nice solid example of a staple implement of the cavalry.
