Civil War Soldier's Art - Inventory Number: SCU 040 / SOLD

Intricately carved from a single piece of wood these items were often carved as prisoners of war and in camp, this example has a hospital/medical theme.  Measuring 10” long x 1 ¾” wide, the carvings depicted include a pair of crutches, an invalid feeder, medical shears, cross, etc.  Additionally a ball was whittled within a cage from the same solid piece!  Neat piece of soldier's art and ingenuity.
