Wonderful pair of Civil War government contracted field glasses manufactured in Paris. They are fully functional with clear optics. The leather covering is strong and tight, and the sunshades slide smoothly. These style of field glasses were widely used by officers, artillerymen, and signal corps members during the Civil War. This particular pair bears the marking “U.S. ARMY SIGNAL GLASS” on the bridge. A desirable example.
