Civil War U.S. Belt Buckle W.H. Wilkinson, Springfield, Massachusetts - Inventory Number:  BEL 405 / SOLD

Non-excavated Civil War pattern 1839 US enlisted belt buckle. Lead filled with arrow style hooks behind the letter “U”. The lead fill is maker marked “W.H. WILKINSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS” and bears the inspectors mark “T. J. SHEPARD.” The face has a few dings and dents from service and is developing a reddish-brown patina. A nice, marked example that shows honest field wear. 

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
