Civil War US Blanket / SOLD

This is the classic Civil War US issue blanket, made of the heavy Kersey wool weighing 3.9 pounds. The blanket has unbound ends and bound edges, measuring approximately 67" x 78.” A 4” wide light brown stripe is woven 7” from each end. Other than lacking the "U.S." stitching at center this blanket is complete and remains in very good condition, with several small holes throughout.  This blanket came out of a local Gettysburg estate. These are a rare and essential element for any collection of soldier's equipment.
