Circa 1850s shoulder belt plate typical of those worn by militia units before the Civil War. The clipped corner plate is constructed of white metal with an attachment pin soldered on the back. The plate measures 2 ¾ inches by 3 5/8th inches. Recovered from Cedar Creek Virginia. A nice representative example.
