Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver and Side Knife Recovered from Charleston Harbor - Inventory Number: REL 106 / SOLD
Fascinating pair of Civil War period relics recovered from Charleston Harbor, the scene of four years of war from Fort Sumter to 1865. The revolver appears to be a Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver with a 4 ½” barrel, in heavily corroded relic condition as is consistent with a salt water recovery. The side knife is in similar condition, measuring 8 ½” with a clipped point and iron cross guard. A great addition to an excavated Civil War weapon collection.
Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
