This is a very nice representative example of the Model 1851 Colt Navy revolver. .36 caliber revolver with 6 shot cylinder, a 7 ½” octagonal barrel with attached loading lever, brass frame with round trigger guard. This specimen is serial number 149,088 which was manufactured in the first quarter of 1863. The top of the barrel is marked “ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK US AMERICA” and the left side of the frame is marked COLTS / PATENT. Some of the plating remains. Colt stamped the serial number on the barrel, frame, cylinder, loading lever, trigger guard, back strap, and wedge and they all match. Mainspring is broken easily replaced.
