Colt Pocket Model Revolver - Inventory Number: HAN 128 / SOLD

Representative example of the .31 caliber five shot revolver. Barrel has a two line “ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK CITY” marking on top. The standard “COLTS / PATENT” is stamped on the left side of the frame. This example has had a hand engraved white metal inlay applied into the left side of the grip which reads “Colonel John Singleton Mosby – 1862” The significance of this inlay is unknown but doubted to be correct. Possibly for an early museum display. The serial number 204,089 placed its production into early 1861.
