Confederate Bowie Knife – Inventory CON 539
Superb example of a Confederate fighting knife typical of those so popular with Confederate soldiers early in the Civil War. The crudely fashioned, clip point blade measures 14 ½” with an overall length of 19 ½”. A single piece, coffin handle wooden grip is fixed to the tang via one iron pin. The original leather sheath is handsome, and form fitted to the blade. The reverse has a belt loop, the tip is missing possibly from use.
An intimidating southern fighting knife that would make an impressive addition to a Confederate weapons collection.
