Confederate Saddle Pad, Under Girth Strap, and Head Stall from Eastern North Carolina Estate.
Saddle blankets from the Civil War are almost non-existent. In twenty-eight yeats, we have had the opportuity to offer four from the era. This is only the 2nd southern example we have encountered. Very scarce quilted buff 24" x 12" with cotton tape trim edging. Nicely padded body with a floral pattern.
The under girth starp is constructed of cotton with leather leads and iron rings. Headstall with iron bullseye rosetes and five concentric rings.
