Confederate General James Longstreet Autograph - Inventory Number: CON 370 / SOLD
Ink autograph of Confederate General James Longstreet, one of the foremost Confederate generals of the American Civil War and the principal subordinate to General Robert E. Lee, who called him his "Old War Horse". He served under Lee as a corps commander for most of the battles fought by the Army of Northern Virginia in the Eastern Theater, and briefly with Braxton Bragg in the Army of Tennessee in the Western Theater.
Originally from a book autographed by the general, the paper bears the printed provenance: “This Autograph edition is limited to Two Hundred and Fifty Copies, of which this is No. 30”. This example measures 5 ¼” x 2 ¾” and is signed “James Longstreet”
Comes housed in 8 inch x 12 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
