Confederate North Carolina Button - Inventory Number: BUT

Local manufactured North Carolina 23mm two-piece coat button. The face shows a worn die strike and a deep, dark green patina. The back has an intact soldered shank and the backmark “S A MYERS/RICHMOND VA.” This variety is listed as NC210A1 in Tice’s button book, and it is noted that Casimir Rouyer made these in his New Orleans shop. A nice example of a Confederate manufactured button.
