Confederate Short Sword - Inventory Number: CON 158 / SOLD
Scarce weapon of the southern field artilleryman. The blade exhibits crude finishing striations and wavy blood fullers. The tip has been somewhat blunted sometime in its life. The heavy cast brass grip measures 6” in height with an integral 4” cross guard with roman numerals “I” and “L” on opposite ends. The grip is secured via three iron pins which bear filed lines to mirror the concentric design of the grip. Condition is particularly good with a nice pleasing patina. A wonderful example of a Confederate short artillery sword. Measures 25” overall.
