Superb image of a seated Union Captain.  He is wearing a nine-button officer’s frock coat with epaulettes bearing a pair of bars denoting the rank of captain.  He is cradling is model 1850 staff & field officer’s sword, just above is a clearly visible m1851 sword belt plate.  Housed in its original patriotic half leatherette case with brass mat.  Tintype image of child located behind image of Union Captain.
