    Discharges, Bible, and Reunion Ribbons of David R. Weaver 30th New Jersey Infantry and Battery D, 1st New Jersey Light Artillery - Inventory Number: GRO 037

    Grouping of items belonging to David R. Weaver, who enlisted in the 9-month 30th New Jersey in August 1862. After serving as an infantryman, he again enlisted in Battery D, 1st New Jersey Light Artillery in September 1864. The lot includes both of Weaver’s discharges. His pocket bible is bound in red Moroccan leather with the inscription on the first page that reads “D.R. Weaver’s book presented to him by the Bible Society, Co. A. 30th Regt. N.J.V. Somerville, Somersett Co. N. Jersey.” Two riker cases contain 17 of Weaver’s reunion ribbons from 1891 to 1912, as well as stamped brass infantry and artillery hat insignia. An excellent New Jersey Civil War veteran’s grouping. 

    David R. Weaver - Enlisted on 8/25/1862 as a Corporal. On 9/17/1862 he mustered into "A" Co. NJ 30th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 6/27/1863 at Flemington, NJ  

    Comes housed in two display cases with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
