Eagle Sword Belt Plate - Inventory Number: BEL 341 / SOLD
Regulation belt plate known as the model 1851 sword belt plate. This plate was issued to Union Cavalry and Artillery as well as many non-commissioned officers. The plate is finely detailed with a widespread eagle on a stippled background. A wreath surrounding the eagle and the banner and motto “E Pluribus Unum” with median sun rays above. The reverse retails to original tongue device to affix to the belt keeper. Very good example of the classis Civil War plate.
