Early Millville Atmospheric Fruit Jar - Inventory Number: BOT 087 / SOLD

Complete example with its original 1861 Patent glass lid and iron clamp.  "MILLVILLE ATMOSPHERIC FRUIT JAR" (embossed on front) "WHITALL’S PATENT JUNE 18th 1861" (embossed on back).   The original glass lid is also embossed: "WHITALL’S PATENT JUNE 18th 1861" in bold raised letters around the top of the lid.

Jar is hand blown in mold, applied collar with sunken ring.  Beautiful aqua color.   7 ¾” tall.  Excellent condition overall.
