Early-War pattern U.S. percussion cap box. This cap box is entirely hand stitched and has no rivets in the belt loops, and the stitch that holds the sheep skin does not go through the back of the box. The leather remains supple with moderate crazing to the finish, and the lamb’s wool lining is no longer present. A nice example of a relatively scarce early-war cap box.
